Lorenzo Federico

Lorenzo Federico works for Luiss Data Lab as a Data Science research fellow. His research interests are mainly related to the theory of complex networks and its applications to the study of social networks. His current activity is focused on the modeling of flows of (dis)information on Twitter, combining classic graph theory tools (community detection, centrality measures, assortativity coefficients) with methods from other scientific fields, such as non-parametric statistics and Natural Language Processing. He obtained his Master’s degree in Mathematics, with a specialization in Probability and Mathematical Physics, from La Sapienza University and later his PhD at Eindhoven University of Technology, with a thesis on “Phase transitions and connectivity in random graphs”. He worked for 18 months as a Research Assistant at the University of Warwick and for 3 months at Greensill Capital as a Network Theory Specialist before joining Luiss Data Lab.
