Prima di entrare a far parte dell'Universit\u00e0 di Liverpool, Elena \u00e8 stata Language Engineer per Alexa in italiano (presso il team di Amazon Alexa Applied Modelling and Data Science) e ricercatrice post-dottorato presso il Data Science Institute della Columbia University. I suoi interessi di ricerca si concentrano sull'interfaccia tra intelligenza artificiale e comunicazione, inclusa l'argomentazione teorica e applicata, la (dis)informazione e lo sviluppo di tecnologie di interazione uomo-computer per promuovere le competenze di pensiero critico.
